The most common type of complete game tables is the ones that have one or more board games built into the surface of the table. At the simple end of this spectrum is a table that may have a top that looks like a checkers or chessboard and have a drawer that can hold the pieces to that game. Further up the list are those game tables that have interchangeable tops. This means you can switch out the piece of wood that looks like a checkers table for other game table tops such as a backgammon table, perhaps a Sorry game board or any of a number of other game boards. Additionally these types of tables usually come with all of the pieces for these games stored in the drawers that are built in or even in a compartment below the removable tabletop.
Shuffleboard tables are generally sized between 10 and 20 feet long and are usually 20 inches wide. Constructed with a slick surface for sliding disks, called "pucks" down an alley, it is often polished using silicone beads or sand to help the pucks glide to the score area at the other end of the shuffleboard. Being a popular game to play and preferred by a wide variety of active people, shuffleboard's convenient rules make this game a moveable sport. The general rules instruct players to "shuffle" the pucks to the other end of the shuffle board where they may score by either moving their own puck as near to the designated scoring sections as possible, or by knocking their opponent's puck from the scoring sections altogether. Shuffle board tables can be enjoyed by anyone at any age and are a good choice for those seeking a physically active game playing experience while enjoying a more relaxed pace of play.
